How to replace chain and sprockets
1. Lift and loosen
On a paddock stand, loosen the rear axle nut and back the chain adjusters fully off.
2. Split the old chain
Break the chain at a link, or unbolt the front sprocket cover and slide the loop off.
3. Replace both sprockets
Fit the new front sprocket first and torque it, then the rear sprocket bolts to spec with thread-lock.
4. Fit the new chain
Feed the chain on and rivet the soft link with the correct tool, or fit the clip with the closed end forward.
5. Set slack
Set slack to the chain-guard sticker figure with the bike on its wheels and the rider's weight off.
6. Torque and lube
Torque the axle nut to spec, check alignment both sides, and lube the chain warm after a short ride.
