Signs you need new parts

  • Any bike parked in a city or used for commuting
  • Existing cosmetic damage from a previous drop
  • Adventure or touring use on loose surfaces

What to check before buying

  • No-cut sliders keep bodywork intact; cut sliders sit closer to the frame
  • Delrin absorbs and slides, nylon grabs — prefer Delrin heads
  • Use the supplied grade 8.8+ bolts and thread-lock them
  • Torque to engine-mount spec, not by feel

OEM vs aftermarket

OEM

Factory crash bars exist mainly on adventure and touring models and are well engineered but expensive.

Aftermarket

Aftermarket kits cover sport and naked bikes the factory ignores, at a fraction of one bodywork panel.

FAQ

Do frame sliders cause more damage in a crash?

At road speeds on tarmac they reduce damage. In a high-speed off into soft ground they can catch — which is why track bodies use short, no-cut sliders.
