Motorcycle Rider Gear

Helmets, jackets, gloves and armour. Certification labels — ECE 22.06, EN 1621 armour levels, EN 17092 garment classes — are the only objective way to compare protection.

Signs you need new parts

  • Helmet older than five years or after any impact
  • Abraded or torn jacket panels
  • Gloves with worn palm sliders or split seams

What to check before buying

  • Look for ECE 22.06 or DOT plus EN 1621-1 / 1621-2 armour
  • Measure head circumference and check shell size steps, not just S/M/L
  • Replace any helmet that has taken an impact, even without visible damage
  • Check armour is CE Level 2 at shoulder, elbow, back and hip

OEM vs aftermarket

OEM

Manufacturer-branded gear is generally re-badged from an established maker at a markup.

Aftermarket

Buying direct from gear specialists gives more sizes, better certification transparency and lower prices.
